Grace Drives and Transforms Us

Grace drives us to our church 'home': This is the way God changes our thinking and self-talk: “How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” [1 John 3:1] We try hard to see each other like that, husbands, wives, parents and friends. Knowing God’s grace, his lavish love, makes us think twice in our interpersonal relationships and makes us much quicker to apologize, forgive and love. Grace drives us to make Grace Lutheran our church ‘family’ and our church ‘home’.

Grace drives us to our eternal Home: Amazing Grace! We have an eternity before us. A good eternity. A peaceful eternity with God, thanks to Jesus Christ. Can you hear the melody, “When we’ve been there ten thousand years, bright shining like the sun; we’ve no less days to sing God’s praise than when we first begun.” Members of Grace Lutheran live and die in peace knowing that Life through faith in Christ does not end-ever. Not even death separates us from His Life within us. For us, death is only the continuation of that Life.

That Grace transforms. That Grace changes people. When you understand, and believe that Jesus went through hell for you, you are not the same person. You cannot be. When you realize that God gave up his only Son for you, he changes you. It’s like you’re born again, only this time you’re born with life that will not end in death. That gives a believer in God a powerful reason to live.

Grace does transform. People aren’t the same after they know God’s grace. And the better you know His grace the more he changes your whole outlook on life. God wants to teach you. God wants you to understand your relationship with him. You cannot improve on that relationship because God himself has created it. And that relationship through faith in Christ transforms and impacts every other relationship you have. Grace changes people; wives, husbands, parents, children, employers and employees. And it’s an ongoing and growing change based on a permanent change in status with God through Christ. It’s a change that God’s Spirit himself makes in you, literally from the inside out. It’s a powerful life-change of mind that God brings about as you hear and believe the message of Christ that he came into this world to save sinners – like us. Be transformed by grace through faith.
