Grace Gives Us Focus

When you think of ‘grace’ in the Bible, think ‘undeserved love’. ‘God loves me but I will never deserve it.’ Grace focuses him on you and Grace focuses you on him. Grace makes you want to know God and God’s Word, the Bible, will give you a lifetime of focus. God’s grace is that rich and that deep.

We call the Bible the ‘Word of God’ because the whole book is God’s Word, every word of it. That’s why we want to know God’s Word. God’s grace focuses our attention there. God’s Word is truth. God’s Word is the focus of Grace Lutheran. We know what Jesus said, ‘hear the Word of God and do what it says.’ When we realize how far God went, to death by crucifixion for us, that grace focuses and drives us to know and take what he says to heart. We try to do that no matter what His Word says, whether his Word shows us our sins or shows us his grace. We love him and trust him.

We are part of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, which is often referred to as the WELS.  The WELS is a group of over 1000 congregations and close to a half million members who share the Good News of Jesus Christ in all 50 states, 3 Provinces of Canada and 15 countries around the world.
