We, that is the human race, are not what we should be, i.e. good, kind and full of truth – not even close. That’s what God says about us, the people of planet earth. We know what we have coming. It’s all around us, death – the end of life. But there’s more to death than the end of life as we know it. There is death after death, forever without God or anything good from him. That’s worse than frightening. It’s defining. God has to do something about it because we can’t.

God did do something. God has one eternal Son. He became human, Jesus, the son of Mary. Much of the world remembers his birth. His life history is in the Bible. Jesus was a man like everyone of us should be, good, kind and full of truth. Then he died like the rest of us. Why? As a substitute. The Son of God for the human race. If God gave each of us what we deserved he’d never see any of us again – ever. He didn’t want that and he did something about it. That Grace defines you. You’ve probably heard God’s promise that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him would not perish but have eternal life. That’s grace. Jesus lived for you, died for you and rose from death for you. Grace defines. You are his children. You can trust Him.
